Analysis of key points in the structural design of metal stamping mold

The structural design of metal stamping mold is directly related to the efficiency, quality and cost of stamping production. The following are some key points in its structural design.
1. Design of working parts
The punch and die are the core working parts. The shape and size of the punch should be accurately designed according to the shape of the stamping part, and its strength and rigidity must be sufficient to withstand the pressure during the stamping process without deformation. The die should consider a reasonable edge form, such as a straight edge or an oblique edge. The straight edge is simple to manufacture but has a large blanking force, while the oblique edge has a small blanking force but is slightly more complicated to manufacture. It needs to be selected according to actual needs.
Determination of the gap. The gap between the punch and the die has a huge impact on the quality of the stamping part. If the gap is too small, the blanking force will increase and the mold wear will increase; if the gap is too large, the cross-sectional quality of the stamping part will decrease, and defects such as burrs will occur.
2. Positioning device
In order to ensure the accuracy of the stamping part, the positioning device is indispensable. Common ones include positioning pins, positioning plates, etc. The positioning device should be able to accurately position the blank in the correct position in the mold and remain stable during the stamping process to ensure the consistency of each stamping part.
3. Unloading device
The function of the unloading device is to unload the workpiece or waste from the mold after the stamping is completed. For blanking dies, a rigid unloading device is generally used, which has a simple structure and a large unloading force; for punching thinner materials or situations with higher precision requirements, an elastic unloading device is more suitable, and it can also play a role in pressing materials during stamping to improve the quality of stamping parts.
4. Guide device
The guide device ensures the precise alignment of the punch and the die during the stamping process. Guide pins and guide sleeves are commonly used guide structures, and their matching accuracy and wear resistance must be ensured to improve the service life and stamping accuracy of the mold.
5. Die frame structure
The die frame is the basic structure of the mold. The appropriate die frame type should be selected according to factors such as the stamping process force and the size of the mold, such as the rear guide column die frame, the middle guide column die frame, etc. And the strength and stability of the mold frame should be considered to ensure the reliable operation of the entire mold during the stamping process.
The structural design of metal stamping mold needs to comprehensively consider many factors in order to design an efficient, high-quality and durable mold.
